Meghan McCain and her Selective Outrage

Glenn Beck mocked Meghan McCain on his radio show Wednesday for appearing partially nude in an ad for skin cancer. Beck made sounds pretending that he was vomiting while looking at the ad.  "Put some extra clothes on," he said. "Like, lots of extra clothes...has she thought about a burqa, just to be extra safe?"  Meghan was highly offended and took to Twitter to blast Beck for his hurtful comments, and so did her mother, Cindy McCain.
If you think this post is in support of Meghan, then you are wrong. Not even close. Glenn Beck is an idiot and his days are numbered. So, enough said about him.  However, Meghan McCain is getting EXACTLY what she deserves. I have absolutely no empathy for her hurt feelings, and here’s why.

Meghan did a fluff interview with Donald "fart brain" Trump in April for “The Daily Beast” where she figuratively gave him a high-five for his efforts to delegitimize President Barack Obama. At the time of the interview, she had knowledge of his antics.  She knew that he had gone from one network to another trashing the President in order to bring attention to his fake presidential run. Trump said that he had sent investigators to Hawaii to uncover the President’s original birth certificate, which was a blatant lie and all the networks knew it. He made racially tinged remarks that President Obama was not smart enough to get into Harvard, suggesting that if his rich white friends’ children could not get into Harvard, it was no way that Barack Obama, being black, would be accepted. He told one lie after the other and every news organization gave him full access across their network platforms to spew his lies.
Meghan was excited that Trump was "sticking it to Obama."  She didn’t seem to mind that "sticking it to Obama" meant questioning his citizenship; thereby, his legitimacy as President of the United States. Well Meghan, dear, what goes around comes around.  It's called Karma, the law of cause and effect.  If it is acceptable to her that "Trump the Dumbo" spews hateful and hurtful rhetoric against our President, then many of us have no empathy for Meghan when Beck slings hurtful language her way.
Miss Meghan’s selective outrage against Beck is more self-righteous than indignation.  In the interview with Trump, she supported his racially motivated rants about our President. Did Meghan feel any empathy for African Americans to hear her good buddy Trump say the things he did and to watch the news media give him full access to promote hatred. No she did not. Meghan behaved like a star-struck little girl.  It was as if she wanted to be able to say, ‘I interviewed Donald Trump.’ Yay  Meghan! Good for you.  It was sickening to watch.
Her mother, Cindy McCain, expressed her disdain for Glenn Beck’s mocking of her daughter.  Understandable. I would feel the same way.  However, Michele Obama was hurt by Trump and the birthers' claims that her children's father was an illegal alien. She told Oprah that it “upset” her. Meghan bragged to Trump that her mother supported him. Well, Cindy, dear, you and your daughter might want to establish some clear, uncompromising principles about hateful, hurtful, racist language regardless of whose dishing it out.
That’s my yada yada and I’m sticking to it!
